Most motorcycle riders face this dilemma at some point: What kind of motorcycle helmet should I buy? There are only a few major brand names to choose from and many riders end up picking an Arai helmet to satisfy their needs. In addition to fulfilling the legal requirements many riders face, Arai helmets are comfortable and highly advanced, providing an abundance of features for the rider that may meet or exceed their expectations. Some of the models are more popular that others like the Arai RX7 Corsair. It has many features that make it very popular. The front scoop on the helmet is made for channeling air over the face shield, which helps prevent fogging. It does this very well at higher speeds. You can also pull out the padding and wash it, which keeps the helmet in good, clean condition for a longer period of time. It is an incredibly light helmet as well as a very comfortable one. It is also the top of line that Arai offers so it may be out of some rider's price range.

If that is the case, there are many other models to choose from that will differ significantly from the Arai RX7 Corsair . This difference becomes significant as soon as the helmet is placed on the head. The Arai Profile is a long oval head shape and is also supposed to be "narrower, sleeker and more aerodynamic" than other models.

If a rider wants to be on the cutting edge of technology for motorcycle helmets, there is the new Arai Quantum 2 (Arai Quantum II). It has Arai's SCLC (super complex laminate construction) shell, plus Arai's latest organic shell shape, which is supposed to be both more natural looking and to increase the helmet's capacity to move through the wind, thereby reducing noise. The intake and exhaust vents are recessed into the shell to improve airflow, reduce wind noise, and give the helmet a cleaner look. It also has a washable, fully removable liner.

As if the decision wasn't hard enough, there is one more model to complicate the choice. The Arai Astral X has sleek, molded lines that run from front to back making this helmet unique and lustrous. The Arai Astral-X has a somewhat more "relaxed" overall fit than other models which leaves more room in the forehead area. It does not have a removable liner, which can actually increase overall comfort compared to a removable liner.
