Although equal in finish and safety performance to Shoei's high end models, the Shoei TZ-R, offering distinctive design and shape combined with fresh, diverse and aggressive graphics, is Shoei's most affordable full face helmet. The Shoei TZR utilizes a newly developed high grade shell design with ventilation that is integrated into the shell for a more streamlined look and upper vents that combine with a molded shell shape to create a look with a strong sense of movement. This aerodynamically improved shape features an air spoiler to reduce drag and lift when worn at high speeds. To ensure Shoei's high standard of quality, both the Shoei TZR shell and liner are subjected to repeated quality control inspections and impact absorbing testing. Wind tunnel testing is also used to determine optimal levels of ventilation, cooling and aerodynamic performance. For improved cooling, upper air intakes correspond to any riding position, and fresh air flow is easily controllable by adjusting the ventilation shutters found on the Shoei TZ-R. Similarly, enlarged lower intake vents allow ample amounts of fresh air flow to prevent fogging, and exhaust outlets at the bottom rear release hot air and humidity buildup. The Shoei TZR uses three shell sizes and four corresponding liner sizes to achieve the perfect fit; interior cheek pads and chinstrap covers are removable, washable and replaceable creating an easy and affordable custom fit in multiple sizes. Finally, the Shoei TZ-R features a high performance combination of new and advanced shell materials, called Advanced Integrated Matrix Plus Multi Fiber (AIM+), to produce a lightweight shell with increased rigidity and elasticity; this reduces inertia and impact in the event of an accident and provides for a very comfortable ride.
