Great Helmet but...
I bought this helmet last year after buying a new motorcycle. I did a lot or research on helmets and Arai kept coming up for fit and comfort not to mention quality and safety. I chose this model specifically for the fit based on the shape of my head. Since owning the helmet I will say that I am still impressed with its fit, finish and air control in both hot and cold conditions. Couple of not so good points - First and foremost is this helmet fogs up like not other helmet I've ever had. I tried Fog-X which worked on every other helmet I've owned and it didn't work at all which surprised me. I contacted Arai and they said that they have heard this a lot and suggested that I get a pin-lock shield / insert set up. This is where I have an issue, if you know that this is an issue that you've heard about so much then why not include this standard. Lets face it these helmets are already expensive enough as it is to add another $60+ to the cost is a little hard to take. Finally while changing out the shield one of the quick release levers broke right off and now I can't remove the shield and have to address this with Arai. I am not saying that this is or isn't my fault I just know that it was NOT in any way intuitive to swap out. The Pin-lock shield / insert combo works well but if you wear glasses you might find it kind of funky at night since you are passing through the shield then the insert then then your glasses which is a lot of layers for light to pass through without some kind of shift. After all this, I am still thrilled with the helmet and would consider another one in the future, hopefully the company will address my concern with the broken lever without too much pain.
