From a RAM Air III to the XC Ram.....
It's obvious that I like Arai, because they not only have the best safety, but also for their attention to fit and finish. The reason I decided on the XC Ram was because I ruined my RAM Air III due to a major accident last fall. I was happy with it so I decided to try the newest upgrade. This new XC Ram is definitely an upgrade to it's predecessor. It gives almost as much coverage for a 3/4 hemet as a full face, without having to go with one. The flip up visor is optically correct and gives you the feel of a full face, and is great for rain, wind, bugs, etc.. As with any fully vented helmet you will get a little more wind noise, but the benefits of comfort and coolness far outweigh any minor distractions. I have done 2-500mi.+ days with my new helmet, and it has performed very well. Please make sure you do a proper fitment for this helmet. It makes all the difference in the world. My last helmet ended being too big after awhile. If you are right on the borderline in sizes.....opt for the smaller size! I would highly recommend this helmet if you do want a higher end safety helmet, after all it's only your head. LOL I can't wait to get a tinted or mirror finished replacement visor.
