      Nice features
I recently was looking to replace the helmet I am presently using. Not that the one I was using was too old or had any problems. I know there is the five year rule and the pros and cons that go with that but my reasoning is as follows. On my previous 1500 I had an extra tall Tulsa windshield. With that windshield, during a driving rain and wearing a three quarter helmet and glasses I could see and stay dry. When I upgraded to the 1800 I had to consider going back to the extra tall windshield or going with a different helmet system to have good visibility riding in the rain. I had looked into the “Shark” line of helmets before purchasing the one I presently have but the price was way more than I wanted to spend at the time. So I settled for the Scorpion EXO900 helmet that could be either full or three quarter face. The only drawback was it could only be one or the other without adding or removing the chin guard. The Shark helmet did both. One minute it could be a full face and with one hand moving the chin bar to the rear position making it a three quarter. Even though I haven’t installed the headset in it yet I have used it for several hundred miles. So far and it has broken in faster than I would have thought. As with any helmet I have owned the cheek pads always seem too tight at first. The fit was very good and felt comfortable. Using their chart I measured out to a “large”. While at Americade this year I had a chance to try on a large and it was way too small so I opted for a “extra large”. I am glad I did. Head shape also figures into to overall fit but it seems that they run smaller. The wind noise was a little more than I was expecting but tolerable. I was a little disappointed with the face shield because it buffered in the wind while raised and had to be worn all the way in the down position to eliminate buffering. The specs claimed improved ventilation. It has a washable liner. A scratch proof anti fog shield, a built in sun visor (which I love). It is eye glass friendly which means it has an extra cut out for when using it with glasses. It has a provision for “Sharktooth”, their version of Bluetooth. The color and graphics are very nice. The weight is less than previous Shark models, this being the third version. It also has a top vent. I am looking forward to trying it in the rain. The helmet is made in France and is very popular there with many styles. They are just gaining market share here in the US with all the new styles and colors. I purchased mine from helmetcity.com. They have free two day shipping and no tax. So in my opinion on this helmet the pros far out weigh the cons and I would recommend this helmet.
