Looks awesome, but poor quality for price
Since there's no reviews, and I would have loved some when I decided to purchase this helmet, I decided to write one to help out the community. I was not impressed by this helmet. I knew Simpson didn't specialize in motorcycle helmets, but this one looked so cool I had to give it a shot. The helmet I currently use (Icon Alliance) cost about half as much as this helmet, and I would argue that it is a much more well-made piece of equipment. Some of the things that disappointed me: -Padding is really thin and the material is uncomfortable. The chin strap looks cheap, and the only thing to hold the loose end is a generic looking rubberband. -Front vents seem to be made of a cheap plastic. One of them doesn't click in all the way like the other does. -Not DOT rated, I think that's technically illegal where I am, but I didn't really care too much considering it is Snell rated. Something to keep in mind though. -These are smaller issues, but it's frustrating to see a helmet at this price point have them: Paint is poorly applied on some edges. Gasket on bottom feels cheap. Snell decal looks crooked. That being said, the helmet does look awesome. It is also lighter than my other helmet, which is nice. I didn't actually wear it while riding because I planned on returning it. Probably would have kept it if it was significantly cheaper, but there's too many small issues with it that bug me.
