The Sierra Nevada Mountains are a four hour drive from our sleepy beach town and they're the perfect place proving ground for winter requirements. The Vortex's Velocity Flow Ventilation™ with FlowAdjust™ temperature control was already a good starting point...adding a top-quality balaclava, purpose-built breath box and offering the choice of an electric or double shield was all it took to dial this beauty in for sleds. Not to mention the requisite MC features like ClickRelease--the reigning world champ in shield ease-of-use, the lightweight polycarbonate shell with its stable profile, the sweet contoured cheek pads, and plush removable comfort liner. Finish it off with a noise-reducing wind collar and integrated speaker pockets, and you have a complete package at a killer price.
